Summary:
A family of three pilgrims, mother, father and daughter gathered together. The mother stands behind the father and daughter, wearing a cap, with her proper left hand on the father's shoulder and her proper right hand to her daughter's back. The father kneels on his proper right knee, wearing a coat, knee-britches and large-buckled shoes. He holds one side of an open book with his proper left hand, while his proper right arm is around his daughter. He holds a wide-brimmed hat in his proper right hand, while a musket, barrel-side up, leans against his proper left leg. The daughter has shoulder-length hair and wears a long dress with a wide collar. She helps to support the open book with her proper right hand. The sculpture is mounted on a rectangular base in a planted setting.
