Summary:
Religious scene with St. Philip Benicio, Virgin Mary, and the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and the Holy Spirit) set in heaven against a cloudy background. Pairs of cherubs float around the figures in the upper part of the painting. This event relates to the renunciation of his religious faculties in 1286. St. Philip Benicio kneels down looking at the throne of heaven and pointing with his proper right hand to the ecclesiastic symbols he renounced in humility.
