Summary:
Full-length portrait of Bishop Martin Marty in the vestments of his office, including long robe, stole, mitre, crucifix and pointed hat. He holds a Bible in his proper left hand and with his proper right hand encircles a Native-American youth, who stands before him holding a cross. The youth is dressed in fringed trousers, mocassins, and has braids. They stand on a circular plinth atop an inscribed rectangular base.
