Summary:
Granite sculpture with a figure of a sailor on one side and a figure of a soldier on the other side. Soldier is wearing a uniform and holding the barrel of his rifle with both hands with the butt resting by his proper right foot. Two bronze plaques with reliefs of Civil War scenes are on either side of the center unit which contains a bronze plaque with a relief bust of Abraham Lincoln. On the top of the center unit is an eagle perched atop a globe.
