Summary:
A sundial with bas-reliefs of events of territorial pioneer history on its facade. These events include: Captain George Vancouver's discoveries in 1792; the establishment of Fort Okanogan near the mouth of the Okanogan River in 1811 and the erection of Fort Vancouver by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1825; the Cowlits Convention urging creation of a new territory in 1851; crossing Nachez Pass in 1853; the first water-powered saw-mill in Washington built by Michael T. Simmons in 1828; the first railroad to Puget Sound in 1883; and the Medicine Creek Treaty between the United States and Puget Sound Indians drawn up by Governor Stevens in 1854.
