His hair is short and neatly trimmed and he is bare chested, wearing only long pants and boots. His hands rest atop a wagon wheel which is propped in front of him. In front of the wagon wheel sits a woman wearing a bonnet, a long short-sleeved dress, and shawl. She is barefoot, her proper right foot resting on rock and her proper left foot pulled back behind her. She holds and infant in her lap with both hands.
