Summary:
Twelve religious statues placed on the grounds of the Monastery of St. Gertrude. Christ and St. Gertrude are located in niches near the top of the main building. Two angels, holding lanterns, are located on either side of the entry steps. St. Joseph and the Madonna are located on pedestals near the Monastery. The other pieces are located in a small park in front of the Monastery. Christ is depicted standing with both arms raised and forward. He is dressed in a long flowing garment, with a heart symbol located on his center chest. St. Gertrude stands holding an object against her chest with both hands. St. Joseph stands holding flowers chest-high in front of him in his proper left hand. A deer stands in the park.
The Monastery's German Wayside Shrine has a depiction of Jesus Christ nailed to the cross. Our Lady of Sorrows is located in the park and depicts Mary holding Jesus in her lap after he was crucified. An angel and young boy fishing stand by a pond. At the northwest corner of the park, a hermit kneels in prayer, with an open book resting on a ledge in front of him.
