Summary:
"Homer, clothed in classical garb, is seated on a bench covered with a cloth. At his feet, seated on the ground, is his youthful Egyptian guide with crossed legs. The guide, facing east, holds in his proper left hand what appears to be either a writing tablet or a musical instrument. Homer has his proper right hand on his proper right knee and proper left hand on the head of the young guide."
