A figure of a Union soldier stands and holds a flag which is furled over proper left shoulder. He holds the flag with his proper left hand. His proper right is down by his side and holds a sword angled diagonally downward. His proper left leg is slightly bent and slightly forward. He wears a military uniform and cap.
