Summary:
A standing figure of a soldier on a large plinth which rests on a rectangular base with four columns. The soldier wears a uniform including a real helmet. He holds the butt of a rifle in the palm of his proper right hand. The barrel of the rifle rests on his shoulder. His proper left hand rests on an artillery shell which is placed upright on the plinth beside his proper left foot. His legs are both straight and he looks straight ahead. The upper part of the base is studded with glass and shells.
