Summary:
Norwegian poet Henrik Wergeland stands with his proper right leg forward and to the side, bent at the knee. Both arms are held behind his back, and he grasps a pair of gloves and a walking stick or cane. His head is tilted back with his eyes closed, and he wears a knee-length double-breasted overcoat, pants, and what appear to be boots.
