Summary:
Standing portrait of Fitzsimons dressed in a long jacket with large cuffs, a buttoned vest, a high-necked shirt with a ruffle in front, knickers, stockings, and buckled shoes. His hair is brushed back from his face and his head is turned to his proper left. His proper left knee is bent and his foot is forward. Both arms are at his sides, and he holds a quill pen in his proper right hand.
