Summary:
Portals are adorned with reliefs of figures representing the history and folklore of western Pennsylvania. At center of south portico is Pittsburgh coat-of-arms, flanked on the left by Christopher Gist, a frontiersman. On the right is Guyasuta, Seneca tribe leader. North portico depicts legendary Joe Magarac and Jan Volkanik, coalfield hero.
