Summary:
A seated figure of a young girl untangling a knot in her yarn while her young brother stands opposite her, holding the yarn wrapped between his outstretched hands. To the right a hanging lamp sheds light on the two figures. The lamp light does not illuminate the background where the girl's father and her suitor, along with a servant stand in the shadows.
