Summary:
This accession consists of the email account of Denise L. Breitburg, marine ecologist at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. Breitburg specializes in the effects of hypoxia on marine systems and organisms such as oysters and gelatinous zooplankton, particularly in the Chesapeake Bay. She also studies ways to improve oyster restoration, and the impact of non-native species. Furthermore, Breitburg is adjunct professor of the graduate program in Marine-Estuarine-Environmental Sciences at the University of Maryland, College Park.
