Summary:
This accession consists of the email account of Helena Wright, Curator of Graphic Arts, Division of Work and Industry. Wright received her A.B. from Bryn Mawr College and her M.S. in Library Science from Simmons College. She began her career at the National Museum of American History in 1983 as an Assistant Curator in the Division of Graphic Arts and then Curator, 1984-1994. From 1994-1995 Wright was an Associate Curator and Curator in the Division of Photographic History. Then in 1995 she became a Curator of Graphic Arts and Photographic History in the Division of Information Technology and Society. That same year the museum went through a major reorganization and the division was renamed the Division of Work and Industry. Wright's research specialties include visual culture, including photomechanical processes and the history of American printmaking; the history of print collecting; women's work in graphic arts; and papermaking.Wright's email account consists of approximately 97,580 messages and covers the time period of October 1996 to February 2020. The correspondence documents Wright's work on research, exhibitions, collections acquisitions, public programs, and other related areas. Materials are in electronic format.
