Summary:
Installation of stone idol from the island of Pensacola near the base of the Mombacho volcano in Nicaragua for exhibition in the United States National Museum, now known as the Arts and Industries Building. The stone was found by Ephraim G. Squier who was exploring the islands near Nicaragua and shipped five of these monumental stones to the Smithsonian in 1850.
