Summary:
This accession consists of submissions to "America's Family Album," an effort to collect vintage and modern family snapshots of the Smithsonian Institution for possible use in a future exhibit. Digital and digitized images were submitted and made available online via a website of the same name. Contributors were eligible to participate in a random drawing for a voyage with Smithsonian Journeys. The website began accepting submissions in May 2013 and stopped in April 2014. Submissions made after September 3, 2013 were not eligible for the drawing. Office of Advancement staff deleted images that were clearly not taken at the Smithsonian. Materials include submitted photographs, excluding those deleted for being out of scope. Also included is a spreadsheet providing metadata for the images. Materials are in electronic format.
