CDR copy; FW-ASCH-10RR-0017consists of excerpts from a radio show of a series entitled The American Jewish Caravan of Stars. This specific show was broadcast on 12/11/1960, probably on station WMGM (since other shows in the series were broadcast on that station during the 1950's) and is devoted primarily to Hanukkah. Musically, the primary performer is an opera singer, Florence Wyman, who sings a Hanukkah song in Yiddish, a popular song, and an aria from Charpentier's opera, Louise. A pianist, Wilfus Recher (sp?) performs a medley of Hannukah songs. An excerpt from a melodrama is also included. The show was directed and produced by Sholom Rubenstein.
Recorded in: New York (N.Y.), United States, New York, December 11, 1960.
