CDR copy FW-ASCH-10RR-0016 is a radio show transcription of the Jewish Home Show, which was broadcast Monday through Friday on station WEVD in New York City, which was "a program of information and enterainment for housewives of every generation." This particular show was broadcast on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23, 1961. Ruth Jacobs was hostess and a Merryl (not further identified) also narrated. A variety of stories, poems and songs were presented around the theme of Thanksgiving. The singers were Bonnie Murray and Stan Porter. Most songs were in English; one was in Hebrew. The show was sponsored by - and liberally sprinkled with commercials for - Diamond Kosher Salt Crystals, Diamond Walnuts, Mazola Margarine, HO Oatmeal and HO Cream Farina. The show was a Joseph Jacobs Production, probably directed by Sholom Rubenstein, who also directed the Songs of the Synagogue series which was also a Joseph Jacobs Production. ("Sholom " was written on the tape box.)
