Summary:
Consists of records that document the work of the Office of Communications in publicizing the exhibitions, acquisitions, events, lectures, symposia, and other related public programs of the National Portrait Gallery. Also included are materials produced when the office was known as the Office of External Affairs and the Office of Public Affairs. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, agreements, invitations, guest lists, event programs, images, press kits, press releases and fact sheets, catalogs, brochures, teacher resource guides, postcards, reports, video recordings, and clippings. Some materials predate the creation of the Office of Public Affairs. Some materials are in electronic format.
