The position of Registrar was created in 1977, reporting to the Assistant Director for Animal Programs. The Registrar is responsible for record-keeping related to all animals - from how they were cared for to their family history. Additionally, the Registrar arranges for the shipping of Zoo residents, managing permits and licenses, and staying current on local, federal, and international laws surrounding animal management. Judith Block served as Registrar, 1977-2003. Laura Morse was Registrar from 2005-2018. Morse was followed by Jenn Donato as Registrar, 2019- .
