Summary:
Consists of records documenting curatorial activities in the National Numismatic Collection (NNC), with earlier records dating back to when NNC was known as the Division of Numismatics. Materials predating 1947 were created and maintained by the Division of History. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, and notes pertaining to exhibition planning, inventory projects, coin and medal acquisitions, conferences, staff publications, care of numismatics collections, and annual reports; articles, news releases, and newspaper clippings; contracts; scripts and floor plans for the Hall of Numismatics; exhibition brochures and descriptions; photographs and slides; information on medal programs; collection history files; blueprints; publications and lecture papers authored by the Clain-Stefanellis; research and work progress reports; information files; correspondence with numismatic organizations; and awards. Curators documented in these records include Vladimir Clain-Stefanelli, Curator, 1956-1980, and Historian, 1981-1982; Elvira E.
