"Pinturicchio (Siena), 1454-1513. (Tempera, W. 22 x 22.) A decorated waiter, on which bridal or natal gifts were sent. It was painted for the Piccolomini family, whose arms are on the front and back. The subject is an allegory representing the 'triumph of chastity,' taken from Petrarch." [P. 17.]
