An original painting, by the immortal restorer of the fine arts, Raphael d'Urbino, representing a Virgin Mary and Child. It appears, from the historical works accompanying the certificates of its originality, that this work was executed, by its illustrious author, in 1504, in the city of Florence. The judgment pronounced by the board of Examiners, coincides exactly with the opinion of the above mentioned Abbe Misserini, stating, with the most undeniable proofs, that this handsome painting is an original work of Raphael, and dispelling the doubt, entertained by some professors, that it might be by Perugino.
