"J.G. Vibert. Copy by E. Peters. The bishop's ante-room. 19 x 15. An exceedingly good copy of this well-known picture. The peasant woman has brought her offering and is being entertained by the fat friar. Two other ecclesiastics are in the far corner, - the domincan is turning to eye the buxom young dame. The bishop himself is watching the whole from the door on which is printed: 'fermez doucement,' 'shut softly.' An examination of this picture will show the extraordinary amount of careful work in it."
