Orig. local. exterior balustrade of the Temple of Nike Apteros, on the Acropolis at Athens. Date, soon after Phidias. These fragments are exceedingly beautiful. Cast from the original in the Acad. des Beaux Arts, Paris. [P. 14; exhibited under heading: "Gallery of Sculpture" and preceded by a statement indicating that many of the sculptures in this gallery were cast from Parthenon originals.]
Catalogue of Works of Art in the Permanent and Loaned Collections of the Yale School of Fine Arts, founded as a Department of Yale College, by the late Augustus Russell Street. Winter Exhibition. The Galleries are open daily, Mondays excepted, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. For the purpose of defraying the running expenses of the exhibition, a single admission fee of 10 cents is charged.
