"b. New York, 1825. Brought up to mercantile pursuits, but turned his attention to art, and went to Rome to study, where he finally settled and where his studio is at present. His statue of Lincoln is in Philadelphia; his Seward is in Madison Square, New York. Mr. Rogers designed the bronze doors of the Capitol at Washington. Nydia, the blind girl. (marble.)
