An Indian warrior on horseback, galloping over a prairie. This is by Wiman [sic], and is one of the best he ever painted, although unpretentious in character. Viewed at the proper distance, the wonderful vigor and correctness of the drawing and coloring become evident at once; the far distance, the effect of the wind on the horse's mane, the garments of the rider and the streamer of his lance, and the rich and yellow light, are all depicted with a master hand. This picture has been exhibited at previous Fairs, and is acknowledged to be one of the brightest gems in the works of this famous delineator of Indian life. [P. 45.]
