"Scene on Big River, Mo.," by Louis Schultze. This is a subject similar to the foregoing, though treated in oil. It represents a fine group of forest trees, painted with a breadth and freedom characteristic of the artist. A group of cattle rests under the trees, and a stream washes the bank in the foreground. [P. 67; exhibited under heading: "Water-Colors." See entry 02560073 for other work noted in this commentary.]
