Born in London, 1787; died 1819. The execution, spirit, and splendour of colour are scarcely surpassed by Rubens. This distinguished painter of the celebrated picture of the Kemble family, for which the present proprietor refuses 2000 guineas, was cut off at the early age of 32, after giving full promise of becoming the greatest genius of modern art. (On canvass--2 ft. 6 inh. by 1 ft. 9 inh.) [P. 9.]
