A distinguished Revolutionary patriot and statesman--the youngest of five brothers, all of whom became eminent. He was born in Westmoreland county, Virginia, December 20, 1740, and died December 12, 1792, at his farm on the Rappahannock river, Virginia. [P. 24.]
