This splendid and unique Picture would make a rich appendage to a gallery. The countenances are strongly impressive of the subject, and the attitutes [sic] and characters are truly suppliant, and make a powerful appeal to the feelings. The draperies are well cast, and the whole is painted in a broad and masterly style. [P. 10.]
