[This entry appeared on the broadside with several others, viz.: "Five scriptural paintings temptation of our savior, Christ blessing children, the temptation of Adam & Eve in the garden of Eden, with the tree bearing forbidden fruit, the serpent, the tempter in the tree, and the lion and lamb lying down together the crucifixion. The resurrection." (serials 06420002 through 06420006 jointly index these individual paintings. Catalogue numbers and dimensions derive from the memorandum accompanying the broadside. Following this particular title on the broadside is the note: "On canvass, 10 by 11 feet, one of the best executed paintings Ever exhibited in the public. It has been exhibited in large towns and has been highly commended by all good judges of painting that have Ever seen it. It represents one hundred and sixty different characters for the savior and the two thieves that were crucified with him. The soldiers casting lots for his garments, joseph begging the body of Jesus, the mother of our savior weeping at the cross, the rending of the veil of the temple, &c. &c."
