So splendid a development of the human head is rarely to be found in nature, and makes good Sir J. Reynolds' observation of the superiority of art over nature. There is a soul in this picture rarely to be found in the larger works of this great master. The proprietor would hesitate to advance the name of Correggio, were he not so well assured of the authenticity of this picture. (Engraved by Woolnoth.) [P. 9.]
