Educational Notes:
Thomas Edison might be the most important inventor in history. With more than 1000 original patents to his name, Edison’s work still has a huge effect on how we live our lives today. Among his many inventions, he is noted for three in particular: The phonograph was his first major invention, and it was the first machine that was able to play and record sound. Secondly, although he didn’t invent the first light bulb in history, he did develop the first light bulb that could be manufactured and used in the home as well as other features like safety fuses and on/off switches that made the lightbulb more usable. Thirdly, Edison made big strides toward making motion pictures possible and in creating the motion picture projector. He was also known for starting companies, including General Electric, one of the biggest corporations in the world today.
