Educational Notes:
1975 10th of April. Dear Sis, The American embassy placed me in Texas. The weather is fine, different from Vietnam. I am having a hard time finding a job. The Vietnam War is just ending and many Americans don’t like being reminded their county was involved. They don’t want to deal with me. I'm working on improving my English so I can find more job opportunities. Someone told me about a Vietnamese shop where they make Vietnamese-style coffee on the coast of Texas. One weekend, I went to find the store, and found they also sold Mexican tacos and Czech pastries to cater to the clientele in the area. I didn't expect so many other kinds of food to be sold at a Vietnamese-owned store! I really wish you had left with me when the Americans told us to leave. None of you believed me when I told you the Americans were leaving the War, and that the Northern Vietnamese troops were going to take control of the South. I'll be keeping an eye on the news, but please keep me updated! Hong. Gender: Female
