Michael Shuler enjoys uncovering the hidden layers of growth within plants and trees. The pinecone and proteus were soaked in resin to form solid pieces that could be turned on a lathe. These tiny, delicate vessels reveal the beautiful proportions and surprising patterns found within familiar plant structures.
