Description:
This dwarf, evergreen shrub is a very old Japanese cultivar. Likely to have first appeared in Europe under the cultivar names ‘Mitama’ or ‘Mitama-sugi,’ it was first described by Murray Hornibrook in his book on dwarf conifers in 1923. It is a desirable cultivar for its naturally rounded shape that does not require pruning.
