Description:
The zip-up synthetic vest had been used with protective shield inserts, which were retained by the US Postal Inspection Service. It has other versatile features such as the four Velcro interchangeable identity patches on the front and back and two front pockets. The vest had been used by Postal Inspector Rich Domros, whose name is written on the interior label. Postal inspectors do not wear uniforms, but some specialized clothing allows for quick identification and provides protection when serving a warrant or responding to a disaster. The “police” marking is used because it is widely-known and understood, but vests like this, as well as the jackets or t-shirts used by postal inspectors, typically include the agency name and emblem too.
