The Postal Service issued 32-cent Kids Care! commemorative stamps on April 20, 1995, in Washington, DC. The stamp designs were selected from more than 150,000 entries to the Postal Service and McDonald's Environmental Stamp Design Contest, which challenged children eight to thirteen years old to design stamps with a theme of preserving the environment.
One stamp, designed by Christy Millard of Lakewood, Colorado, features the earth being cleaned in a bathtub. The second stamp, designed by Melody Kiper of Shreveport, Lousiana, features a beach clean-up scene. The third stamp, designed by Brian Hailes of Millville, Utah, depicts a man planting a tree, and the fourth stamp, designed by Jennifer Michalove of Stonington, Connecticut, features a house being connected with the power of the sun.
Ashton-Potter (USA), Ltd., produced the stamps in offset lithography.
