Description:
The Postal Service issued the 35-cent Dennis Chavez stamp April 3, 1991, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as part of the Great Americans Series of stamps. Chavez, who represented New Mexico, was the first American-born Hispanic elected to the United States Senate.
Designed by Chris Calle, the stamps were engraved through the intaglio process by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, with panes of 100.
