Description:
This Employ the Handicapped Issue stamp promotes the employment of the physically handicapped and publicized the Eighth World Congress of the International Society for the Welfare of Cripples in New York City. The meeting was sponsored by the President’s Committee on Employment of the Physically Handicapped and was attended many in the medical field, including doctors, nurses and therapists. The stamp features an image of a man in a wheelchair operating a drill press.
