Description:
This Landing of Cadillac Issue stamp commemorated the 250th anniversary of the landing of Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac in the area of what is now present day Detriot. Cadillac was a French explorer and adventurer. The area was established as a fort and used to protect the fur trade from the British. The stamp depicts an image of Cadillac and his crew landing, as well as an image of the present day Detroit city skyline.
