Description:
This postcard, flown by the German zeppelin Sachsen (LZ 17) from Liegnitz to Dreden on November 9, 1913, has an air label of the zeppelin over the city of Liegnitz, a label prepared especially for a series of Sachsen flights in November 1913. The postcard, which depicts the zeppelin partially in the hangar at Liegnitz, is the special card #2 (Sonderkarte) of three prepared by the HAPAG office in Liegnitz. The rubber stamp cachet "Sachsen" is inverted on this example but usually is applied right side up.
Forgeries exist of this label and flight.
