Special airmail postcard carried by military airship LZ9. In addition to the 5 pfennig Germania stamp for regular postcard postage, the card bears a special 10 pfennig blue 'airmail label' depicting a zeppelin dropping mail. This label was not authorized to be postmarked. The 5 pfennig stamp is tied with a special circular date stamp "Luftpost am Rhein - Düsseldorf" (airmail on the Rhein - Düsseldorf) dated April 20, 1913, one of the three days that the zeppelin flew these souvenirs. Approximately 26,000 pieces of mail were carried.
