Description:
Postcard produced in Germany. World War I. Front has a photograph of three German soldiers in a ruined town and a caption identifying the location as Chaillon near St. Mihiel, France. The opposite side has handwritten message by Private J. D. Trainor. Addressed to Mr. Jack D. Trainor, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Franked soldier's mail. Postmarked March 7, 1919 at APO 930. Censor mark with signature.
Message reads: Trier, Germany / March 6, 19 / Hope that this finds you and all the family well. I am going to be here at Trier for about 3 weeks as I have work to do here. I hope to be home with you on the 4th of July as we leave here in June. Good bye. With love, Pvt. J. D. Trainor, Co. H. 356 Inf, A.E.F. Germany
