Microhabitat Description:
Traps set at 10,000 feet near upper edge of timberline. Grassy slopes, very rocky. Some forest birch and spruce, up to 11,500 ft. Palawar is the first valley or nullah east of the Rajdiangar pass. It becomes Atawat nullah lower down and flows into the Bandipur Stream. One or 2 small villages lower down. Lower parts of nullah densely forested with pine - good grazing in upper parts. Snow almost all gone by June 12th. The ridge bounding nullah to north rugged and rocky with some ancient moraines sloping [?] downwards. Some traps set here. Many Lagomys among the rocks.  Search this
