From Clarence Birdseye's field notes -- July 1909 - October 1909: "caught on B.A. [Bright Angel] Creek at 4000 ft alt. These had a lodge, with one room about 3 X 5 ft X 1 1/2 ft above water and an entrance leading back into the racks some feet, built out of willow and cottonwood; a ditch with several branches; and numerous well-marked runways forming a network in the "hunch" of Williams in which they were living."
