Microhabitat Description:
The Powy [?] Road leaves the main Gilgit Road and ascending over grassy slopes and 2 patches of pine forest on the northern faces of the nullahs. It crosses the Kamri Pass (14,000 ft.) and goes on to Astor. Very good grazing. Some villages and cultivation of barley to nearly 10,000 feet. Camped in the lower strip of pine forest abt. 10,000 ft. The upper and lower [?] belt of forest is abt 1,000 feet higher. Some pines to 12,000 feet. Birches 6, or 700 feet higher. One or two musk deer hind near camp. Flying squirrels plentiful. Too many people for large game.  Search this
